Beer...and irn bru extra - pins and needles

So I've noticed that beer, irn bru extra and occasionally fruit and nut bar things (and I think some whiskies) give me pins and needles. I always get it in my hands and sometimes my face and my lower legs. It starts within a couple of hours and can last almost a whole day.

No other symptoms but it is quite unpleasant. Like you've whacked your hands together too hard.

I suspect it might be something to do with a fermenting process.

Anyone experienced similar or got any ideas?

Could be sulphite allergy.

Could be a histamine reaction - anything fermented is high in histamine (distilled spirits are usually ok though). Irn bru contains artificial colours that can also trigger reactions.
