Can cows milk allergy sufferer have sheeps milk?

Hi, I was literally diagnosed with a cows milk allergy yesterday from blood tests.
The dietician gave me a short list of alternatives, and said it was important to cut cows milk out totally for a few months so my gut could heal.

However one of the cheeses on the list is one made from sheeps milk. I'm a bit confused. Would I not be allergic to that also?

I asked about goats cheese at the appointment, and she said a lot of people allergic to cows also find they are to goats, but I didn't even think to ask about sheep!

I bought it at the supermarket after, but goggling it not much info comes up and I don't want to undo any good work of avoiding cows milk if I'm then still doing damage with cheese from sheep argh!

Anyone been given advice on this please?

Some can do sheep's milk some can't. Gosh that is useful.

DS could not do cow's milk but could do sheep cheese and yogurt plus a bit of milk but not first thing in the morning. Also it tastes great, better than cow's milk and not at all goaty.

Hmm I wonder if maybe I should try a month without either then test using the sheeps milk then to see if I react. Thank you!

do you mean allergy or intolerance. if intolerant than yes you can. if an ige allergy no you cant.

you really need to know the difference before trying it.

I’m non-I’ve and can sometimes have sheep’s milk cheese and occasionally I do react to it. I’d cut out all mammalian milk for a few weeks before you try.
