Egg intolerance?

DD (nearly 7mo) has come out in a rash on her face/neck twice after having eggs. She doesn't seem to have any other symptoms and has never reacted badly to my breastmilk (and I eat eggs quite often). No reaction to any other food so far.

DH thinks it's enough just to avoid giving her eggs for a while but I'm not sure if we should contact GP/HV. Wwyd?

Yes that sounds like an allergy. My dd came out in an immediate rash when I first tried her with scrambled egg. She was tested positive for an allergy and was given piriton to give her if she accidentally came into contact with egg. She's now 2.5 yrs and her reaction is now much less severe (tested again at hospital). You may find dd is ok with hidden egg such as in pastas etc, but I would see the GP to ask for tests and avoid giving her egg again.

Definitely see your GP who will refer to the hospital to get it confirmed. My ds had exactly same reaction to scrambled egg face and neck covered in a rash moments after eating egg, luckily that was the extent if it and it went within the hour. My GP told me to avoid all things that include egg for now until he's been seen at the hospital as just because his reaction was only mild this time next time it could be alot worse.
I'm taking my ds to the hospital this month so I'll let you know what they say.
My HV said that when it comes to his MMR he may have to be given it at the hospital rather than local clinic as the vaccine is grown/made/fermented (whatever ) on an egg Hmm

Ughnotagain how did you get on at gp?

My dd broke out in a wee rash after giving scrambled eggs the other day. I fully intend to take her to gp asap. (Im in scotland so surgeries closed until tomorrow.) In the meantime im avoiding egg with her as her chin is still a bit blotchy Sad
