Allergies and intolerances

reaction or coincidence?

Can anyone with experience help me out?

DS is 19mo and dairy intolerant. He eats everything else - generally in huge quantities, has neocate and still bfs.

A week last sunday ago we were in ikea and decided to try him on meatballs. he loved them and only afterwards did we discover that they're in a cream sauce (we always assumed it was gravy). But DS was absolutely fine. No dodgy nappies, no sickness, although he did get the cold and cough his sister and daddy had had and was a bit poorly; temp, snotty, not really himself.

On Saturday we decided to try him on some goat babybel. It was just a small bit - size of the top joint of your little finger. Saturday he ate normally, slept fine saturday night. He refused breakfast on Sunday and had pretty much no lunch although he did have roast port and veg for tea. He slept fine for the first part of the night, but woke at midnight, screamed at his daddy for 2 hours until I fed him at 2, woke again for a feed at 5, ate breakfast but was grumpy, refused lunch, had a mid pm bf, ate a bit of dinner and then threw up this evening.

Its the first time we've tried him on goats cheese- first time we've deliberately tried him on dairy so I have no idea what to expect.

Anybody got any advice?

Goat babybel I think is only a small percentage goats' cheese, the rest is normal babybel. It very nearly caught me out too!

ah. That's interesting. I figured goat was a safer place to start - possibly it is, but not cows-milk-goat!

Yep I am gradually working my way back to dairy and started with goats' cheese. I think it's really bad actually that they package those babybels like that.

I hope you have some success with DS!

Thanks IHeart.

He threw up again Tuesday lunchtime, refused all meals Tuesday but ate some tea tonight. His nappies are rank though. Still unsure if its a bug or a reaction. I'm suspecting a bug now.
