Allergies and intolerances

can anyone recommend good picture books to help a toddler/ pre schooler understand about allergies?

Ds (2) has multiple allergies, some severe, and I would love to find some books that help him understand why he can't have certain foods etc, any suggestions?

Anaphylaxis Campaign has a number of books for children with allergies that you can buy from their website. We have one by Josie Warburton about Freddy the Mouse who has a friend allergic to milk and DS loves it. He took it into school when he started and the teacher read it to all the children. I think there's also a book about Cyril the Squirrel but can't remember who it's by. Pretty sure you can buy the Josie Warburton books on other websites like Amazon too.

Just thought as well, are there any good children's books about eczema also?

There is a Topsy and Tim book where Topsy and Tim take peanut butter sandwiches into nursery but their teacher has a nut allergy so they learn they shouldn't share food. Any good?

thanks neolara I will look into that one too. I am just conscious that DS is aware of having different food etc. I can see from his face that it is affecting him and think getting a few books would help us discussion.

the look of absolute delight on his face when my sister made mince pies that he could have was so beautiful, but so poignant. I know he notices if he can't have things.

also as he gets older the issue about sharing food will get increasingly important. His nursery are brilliant about handling it, and the children seem aware of other children's allergies but it a way that doesn't over play it either. But I am conscious that he also interacts with children who won't realise or understand, for instance we visited a friend at the weekend and her child was trying (with sticky fingers) to help himself to food from DS's plate. so I need to help him find the understanding and confidence to deal with these situations I think.
