I'm been dealing with being dairy free (not sure if it's lactose intolerance or an allergy - awaiting tests)

Struggling a little with Christmas treats but doing OK (puddings at restaurants are the worst)

Last few days I have been in agony, joint pain, headaches, bowel pain & violent upset tummy

DH & I sat down & went through what I had eaten - all safe no problems at all, so was it a new allergy?

We decided upon a GP appointment in January & kind of 'put it to the back of my mind' - until DH caught me 'testing' the homemade fudge; accusations followed with me declaring of course it hasn't got milk in (it has - evap) & it's got hardly any butter in (it hasn't - it's stuffed with it)

I feel so stupid Xmas Sad

It happens to us all!
Unfortunately, we usually do it to our kids, and it can be very serious. But we are only human.

You will get used to checkinv the packets of everything

And hey, look at it this way - if there was any doubt what the culprit was - now you know for sure. Smile

Also, thats an intolerance as oppssed to an allergy. Hopefully its lactose as theres lots of lacto free dairy items. Perhaps you can make your own fudge? Grin

I'm hoping for an intolerance - but the consultant wasn't sure.

He wanted to remove it completely from my diet before testing because on skin prick tests I have a reaction to distilled water so it's tricky to check that way. Hmm

My (whatever they have in blood to show it's a allergy) is all over the place apparently

It was my own fudge Xmas Blush which is what makes it worse

But tins of evap don't look like milk

But tins of evap don't look like milk

um - the clue is on the tin - where it says evaporated milk

Hope you feel better soon.
