Just wondering if anyone had any ideas on what to do or gift ideas to celebrate one year together with 2 year old twins? We’re still officially fostering to adopt the twins but hopefully almost there with getting it to the Sheriff Court 🥳

We had a family day out to celebrate - we went somewhere we knew the kids would love and had a fantastic day which they both still talk about. My two chose our wedding anniversary as our “family birthday” rather than they day we met, they moved in etc - it’s nice to mark the forming of your family given how much we adopters go through to get there.

we usually have a day out or go out for dinner

I get a helium number balloon with the relevant number of course, my son still loves them even though he is 15
have fun

Day out somewhere you’ll all still be happy to go together 10 years from now.

We do a photo in the same spot each year holding up the right number or fingers for the number of years. Grin

We do 'certificates' for moving in day - saying all the things they've achieved in the last year, then for 'Court Day' (which is usually in the holidays) we have a day out and a meal if we can.

These are such lovely ideas!

Our son moved in as a short term foster placement and has never left so we haven’t celebrated moving in day. We will definitely celebrate his celebration hearing annually when it finally arrived though! In fact we might celebrate for 365 days after his celebration hearing!
