Today we had a unanimous YES at approval panel and we are so happy we want to shout from the roof tops. We've got some profiles to look at and was wondering what the time average is for initial interest in a profile to child/children coming to their forever home. I know each case is different.
I wish everyday could feel like today. A long 7 years and finally we are one step closer to becoming a family of 4 ❤️

Congrats.

I was matched and placed 2 month ago and our little one is now here. What do you mean by 'some profiles'. I'm surprised you were given more than one.

We were given example CPRs prior to panel of children who have already been adopted to see the type of children in care and to get a gist of what the forms looked like.

After panel, we were only given one CPR. We read that through and decided if we wanted to go ahead (which we did). We would not have been able to get multiple profiles we could choose from.

If your refering to link maker, our Local Authority don't allow adopters on it for 3 months as they want to try and match 'in house' first.

My match went quite quick (and quick compared to other people). From reading the profile and saying yes.... to coming home probably took about 2 months including matching panel.

We were given 2 profiles as soon as we were approved. We have expressed interest in one.

We are with LA so we are not able to via link matcher.

Aww that time frame is positive. Congratulations to you too x

We were approved in the October, linked in November, matched in December and he came home in the January, exactly three months after approval panel. We were very lucky but this was also pretty average for our cohort of adopter friends!

Bare In mind that my time frame was incredibly fast because our FC was no longer fostering due to personal circumstances and so they rushed me through matching panel and planned a week of intros shortly after approval.

I don't think it's common to go from seeing the child's CPR to having in home in a little over a month. I would think that it's more common to be between 2-3 months

Thank you for all your messages. We are getting the childrens reports tomorrow. So excited. Everything seems to be going quickly. A 3 month turn around would be ideal. Our family complete by Christmas ❤️❤️

Ladyg89 congratulations.

We heard about our little one (now a strapping boy of 9!) and with i four months he had come to live with us. No idea how typical that is.

Are you possibly having two children placed with you? How exciting. I wish you all the very best.

Do stick around, these boards have been so useful to me personally.

Thanks

Italian greyhound aww 4 months isn't that long either. I've read some people are waiting for a few months/years. We know how important it is to know the match is right but in our exciting little bubble we would like the children yesterday Smile.

Yes we have expressed interest in siblings from the start. We are being given reports on a sibling group of 2. Xxx

We were approved by panel in December and had 3 profiles to look at there and then. Had a match by the end of Jan and this was approved by matching panel in March. Some bumps in the road meant that placement has just happened :) Completely exhausted already so make sure you enjoy this time in between!

Approved mid March, linked April, matching panel and intros in May. Placed beginning of June.
