Teddy Bears

Hello, Hopefully we will be adopting either a singleton or siblings within the 0-5 age gap. Our SW have told us we should have a special teddy bear that holds our scent and that can be used on introductions. I have thought about buying this now so the scent is strong. Has anybody got any recommendations on good hardy child friendly special teddy bears? Thank you :)

I got a very simple one, a rabbit, and slept with it overnight, not sure how many days, and it was photographed in the introduction photos and presented to the child early on in introductions.

You may wish to wait and ask foster carer if there is a specific bear the child/children like.

We adopted a sibling set. We didn't get the introduction teddy (or in our case an elephant and dragon) until we knew who we were getting them for and knew stuff about them.

I think you're best off waiting for matching, so you know who you're buying for, how many, etc. There'll be lots of time to get your smell on then!

We got DS to make one for when DD arrived. We had it done at Build-a-bear so DS could kiss the heart etc and get a certificate.

We did the same thing and we were told that the small Jellycat teddies were the best for little hands. We slept with ours for a fortnight!

We got DS one that looked like our dog.
He was leaving 3 dogs at the Foster Carers so we wanted him to have one to bring with him.
We photographed the toy all over the house, then left it with him after the initial meeting; he was then able to bring it with him when he came home and put it in the places he'd seen in the photos.
2 years on and he still sleeps with it every night and it has to come on holidays etc.
