Two questions about intro book

ChoccyJules · 07/05/2017 18:43

Without wanting to jeopardise anything and purely for research (at this time)...can barely breathe as it is...no panel has not happened yet, for those who know me...
If you put a cuddly toy in your intro book photos, did you send it with the book or take it to the first day of Intro's?
Secondly, what (if anything) did you call the book? Is 'X's new family' a bit too much?

We took toys to first day of intros. Can't remember what we called the books though!

The bunny we included in our book was handed to SW (along with the intro book, a talking Lamaze butterfly book, bedding that smelled of us, and some laminated A4 photos) on the day of being approved at final panel. And we started introductions the following week!

We understood why they wouldn't take it sooner but in reality I think LO only had them for a couple of days before she met us anyway. I guess there is potentially more preparation time (a gap) between panel and introductions for older children but our LO was 9 months old.

Good luck!!!

Toys stayed home so the DC had to come meet them there. (They were sitting waiting by the front door in the last pic in the book.)

We also recorded us reading stories and gave the books and recordings to FCs.

(Also OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!😱🍷💃)

We called it "All about us" for much the same reasons as you're thinking! (Everything crossed for you Choccy.) Oh and the toy I left in their new bedroom for them to find when they had their first explore of the house. (Eeep!!!!)

As Rosieproject say's , books etc. given in at panel or when meeting FC's .
As FC's it helps child and FC's no end too have these well in advance as soon as intro dates are confirmed.
Its is very warm and comforting that the child recognises and understands the 1st time they meet their new parents.

We sent the toy with the book. We actually just had a big hand drawn picture of the three of us and our house on the front (by DP Flowers) and didn't call it anything, now that I think about it. But it was a leeetle bit academic because she was so tiny.

(Whispering good luck in a totally non-jinxy kind of way)

We sent the toy that had featured in the book with the boom. We also sent the butterfly book amd some laminated photos of us. And we'd slept with the toy for two weeks so it smelt of us.
(We started our journey at a similar time,I am so so crossing my fingers and sending good luck vibes but not making eye contact so it's not jinxed )

We haven't had time to sleep with the toy yet, though DD has...! Intros wouldn't start for three weeks after panel so I was thinking send the book at panel and take the toy on Day One?

I'd send the toy in advance if poss, so s/he has a chance to get used to your smell in advance (if you get a chance to sleep with it. It all happens so quickly...)

We like A4 laminated photos of prospected New Family & Pets, Great for younger baby's and children as we put them on the wall in their room , can say night night. nice when they meet instant recognition Mum, Dad etc.

Just FYI we went overboard! Slept with blanket and sent it with photo book and scrapbook.

In the photos was toy that we took first day.

We called it "name's welcome book from her new Mummy and Daddy". Our sw always referred to it by this title and that's why we called it that. Pretty much all the pictures show the teddy doing what they would be doing in that room or hiding somewhere, ready to be found. We gave them the teddy at the first meeting. Our children had the book for about two weeks before meeting us. They are still occasionally reading it - 5 years in!

We took the toy on first day of intros.

The book didn't really have a title but it had child's name on the front so AD1 and AD2 knew which belong to each of them.
