Yesterday AD2, aged 11, finally walked down a flight of stairs confidently for the first time ever

Alternate feet, no holding the bannister, and no arms outstretched to balance.

Yey! Maybe she won't be run over in Secondary in September after all.

At my kids ( large secondary ) school, anyone who has trouble on the stairs is allowed out of class a few mins early. She might just need to do that for the first few weeks until she gets more confident and used to it.

Kristina Ours does that too, but I am really hoping it won't be necessary. She still has 6 months to improve, so after Tuesday I am more hopeful. They are hopefully running a week/fortnight 'summer school' in August so she should get a chance get used to them before term starts with all the gigantic kids around.

She has also just successfully done bikeability training at school and was not the worst cyclist, and got to go on the roads at the same time as the majority, whereas 3 were held back in the playground. The extra practice at half term paid off.

Now, can we please sort out getting through SATs?

Summer school sounds good . Our DS did that before reception and it really helped him .

And well done on the cycling . It's good that she can see that practice really helps . Lots of 16 yo haven't worked that out ;-)
