Hello all - sorry to drop in and out of this board, I keep asking questions, then go away and have a think of more questions...

Do any of you have experience of either Trafford or Manchester LAs? We are on the border and need to choose between them.

I'm also a little worried about health issues - I have a long term health issue but it doesn't affect my every day life, am I likely to be rejected on this basis?

Thank you Smile

Correct if wrong but believe most Greater Manchester LA's are working in partnership in Both Adoption and Fostering. As of health question lots of people have long term conditions parents included would be a decision of LA.

Personally, I would go with Trafford first! But speak to both and get a feeling of who you like best!

Thanks! I think Trafford works with other local LAs (Stockport, East Cheshire and Tameside), but not including Manchester...

I've spoken to both and they both seem OK - I just have no idea what I should be looking for.

I also found it quite emotional talking through the process with them (although I stopped short of snivelling down the phone!) - is that normal or am I too emotionally fragile to be doing this?

Snivelling is par for the course. Be prepared for a lot more - it was a bit of a shock to my system. I was a finance director then and didn't do snivelling (or so I thought...)

I've heard great things about Tameside and Stockport, and not-great things about Manchester. I think they failed their most recent OFSTED? If it were me, I'd not go with Mcr, but that's just me.
