CALLING ALL MUMS - Shared Parental Leave Research

HRMMastersStudent · 12/07/2017 12:05

I am conducting research through Cardiff University into the uptake of Shared Parental Leave. Very little research has been done in this area and so I emphasise the importance of your participation in this research, to shed light onto a highly debated topic, about which very little is known

If you have had a baby or adopted a child since April 2015, regardless of if you and your partner took shared parental leave, I beg you to ask your PARTNER to complete the following survey:

I thank you in advance for your partner's participation

Um ... did you mean you want my partner to complete the survey? Confused Why not me?

(I think I know the answer but I'm really hoping I'm wrong.)

Grin You saw through my snark.

I will be honest and admit that, like a public-minded idiot, I filled in the survey first and then noted, with irritation, that the OP apparently doesn't want my view.

Actually, the survey itself is quite PC, so I am probably being an arse.

My husband and I are both academics so does it matter who completes it?

Makes no sense why you'd only ask for partners. Do you mean male partners only?? Confused

Do you just want academics/their partners to complete this?
Where you are talking about an adoption, do you want the partner who didn't take the first portion of the adoption leave to complete it?

Also, my DH took Additional Paternity leave (the precursor to SPL) on the adoption of our DD, but it was before this date. Assume you aren't interested in his opinions?

Hello HRMMastersStudent,
I'd be really interested to understand what the findings of your research survey are, as I work for a company that wants to promote shared parental leave further and would find this research really useful to absorb. Is there anything you can share or notify me where this is published?
Many thanks in advance,
Faye
