The reality is that there are only two types of summer footwear here in Los Angeles if you are a wealthy mum. 5 inch heels or flipflops with rhinestones. Personally I'd rather see someone in the former than the latter. No different than the girls who run around in miniskirts and no jackets in the middle of the winter in the North of England....it's just how people dress in that part of the world...and it looks really odd to the rest of us.
