Just feeling super low. My family live abroad, I havnt seen any of them since July 2019. My mum finally booked a trip to visit me, she was meant to arrive next week and stay for a month. I was so excited for Xmas, she last met my younger when he was 3 months and he's turning 2 in a few weeks and I was looking forward to her being here for his birthday.
But we spoke to her yesterday and we've decided to postpone the trip because of all the new travel restrictions popping up again. She and us are all double jabbed but she didn't want to risk getting stuck here or in quarantine, which I completely understand.
I'm just sad, when will I get to see my family again Sad

I was in a similar situation a few minutes ago so I can really understand how difficult this is. My parents met our kids after 4yrs. It's probably best that you cancelled their booking given the current vareint. How about you visit them in summer or during easter? Hopefully with booster jabs things will settle down too.

I feel very similar. It is draining not knowing when you will see your family again. I haven't seen mine since April 2019. My children have changed so much in that time. I sent my parents a video of a school play my daughter was in and my DM replied that she was so much taller than the other children - but she had mistaken my daughter for another child. I has really got me down. My parents are getting older and I feel like we have lost so much precious time. I'm trying to focus on my children, DH and my life here to try and help me be grateful and more present. It is so hard though. I hope you manage to see your Mum soon.
