Feeling traumatised after jury duty

I was called for jury duty and served on it for over a week 2 weeks ago. The trial was a rape case where a man raped his younger sister over a 3 year period which started when she was just 11 years old. To say it was harrowing was an understatement. Every day my heart broke for the victim who is 35 now and listening to the impact it had on her life The defendant will be sentenced at the end of November and was found guilty even though he tried to deny everything. It's like ever since the trial ended, I can't get it out of my mind. I feel for the woman who had her childhood stolen from her and also the defendants young child who now has to grow up without a father. In a way, I feel proud that this man has been brought to justice but I still can't stop thinking about it all and how many lives he has ruined. I have been excused from further jury duty now for 10 years along with the other jurors who served which is a relief, but I honestly think it will take a while to be able to get things from the trial out of my mind. Has anyone else ever served as a juror whereby it all affected you pretty deeply?
