Fancy my colleague- can I ask him to go on a walk?

As background, I am 25 and my colleague is 35. We don't know each other well but we work in the same team. I have developed a crush on him. He is quite shy and awkward (he is very sweet), not attractive in the conventional sense but I have developed a crush due to his personality. Would it be weird if I asked him if he'd like to go for a walk during our lunch break? If so how? He is single I think - lives with family.
