Can I shave it all off please?

Lord I am heartily sick of my hair and literally have dreams about shaving it all off. Please can you help?

I am 42, my hair is both thin and fine. It looks thin I.e. you can see my scalp. It is fine in that it breaks easily, and is very limp and flat. I have receding hairline at my temples, partly hair isn't growing there and partly it's so thin there that it breaks, so I have short tufty bits there. My natural colour would be 'mouse' and I dye it a bit blonder. I have a short neck and this makes my chin disappear a bit - I certainly don't have the shape of skull that I see in any if the pictures I find of a pixie cut.

I can't decide if cutting it into a very short pixie (think Jamie Lee curtis) would be best as it would make it easier to give volume and wouldn't make thinness so obvious, or if it would give me less hair with which to camouflage the thinning areas and look dreadful. JLC does have a beautiful slender neck though so with my short neck I know I'd look totally different (to her) with the same style .

Has anyone gone extra short and found it a mistake? Or was it the best thing ever?

I hated my hair. I went for a grade 2 start of first lockdown. Never looked back!

You could have scalp micropigmentation to disguise the thinner bits? It can look quite effective.

Woman shaved head to raise money for charity and it grew back thicker. Poked up for a few weeks but she just said it made her look taller
