What’s Happening In Your House?

DD12 is still off school but has to go in for a Covid test this week. She actually asked to go to the park this morning & with me! This is huge as she has barely left the house for ages & often says she doesn’t want to spend time with me or DH. We had a lovely chat & went on the swings, although I was a bit squashed as I’ve ballooned during lockdown! Beautiful weather too. Just got back from Asda & might have a jacket spud for lunch. Roast pork for tea which was planned for last night. I have loads of sorting, putting clothes away etc to do in our room & need to strip the bed. I have no idea how long the duvet cover’s been on for! DH has booked both his Covid jabs. I haven’t been invited yet. Bunnies are happily running round the garden. They have been such a tonic. One of the does has a vaccination later 🐰❤️

Children are at school, DH in garden office, I’m lying on the sofa binge watching catfish in the dark. One day is ok, right?

I am at work but according to DH who is WFH the cat has stood in the wet screed (we are having flooring fitted) and needed a bath. She is not best pleased. I am glad I am at work. Kids are at nursery and school.

DS (16) is back at school today and i'm worrying about him as he's been unwell since before Christmas. However i'll resist the urge to text him as he'll complain i'm fussing!

Leftover chicken pie for lunch today with DH and now i'm having a long overdue bedding clear out.

DD is at school, DH is working in the office, and I'm curled up on the bed with a cat and my Kindle. In silence Grin

Sat cuddling dd as she naps whilst my eldest is at school.
Feel so anxious about her being away from me after so long together but know it’s for the best. Managed to catch up on some housework too.
I’m debating getting a treat tea tonight from the chippy to celebrate return to school.

Just watching some YouTube keeping an eye on the time to pick dd3 up from school. It’s freezing and dull here with a sun on and off.

Dd2 will start tomorrow so she’s just relaxing on her iPad and dh has just gone to pick dd1 from school before he goes to work.

The 8th March is a holiday in Berlin (even essential shops are closed), so we are doing nothing much.
DH is on zoom. DS is reading. DD is preparing for a statistics exam and I had my foot surgery last week and am resting my foot, doing the exercises, listen to books, watch YT and keep the owl calm.

Both DC are in their bedrooms, DD1 goes to college Tuesday to Thursday although it's all online so she'll either be studying for tomorrow or pretending she's studying and actually playing games. DD2 is doing schoolwork in her room, she isn't back until next week and it's only once a week then anyway. DH is off work today so has gone into the craft room to do some sort of woodwork thing. I'm in the living room playing Animal Crossing while drinking a coffee. DDogs are asleep in their beds which is very rare, they usually want to sit on my lap whenever I'm on the sofa.

I'm snuggled up in bed working, gender gap talk starts in 10mins so will grab a coffee. Can hear my nanny chatting to my 3 yr old as she wakes him from his nap. They're having a very serious discussion about what baby or fairies his bedtime dummies should be given to. Also some debate about who farted. Apparently not my ds but I don't believe that. My girls are home from school and are downstairs with my son. DH is working flat out in his study as usual.

DS2 has just got home from school and seems to have had a lovely day and reading between the lines teachers have been prioritising play, which is fantastic. DS1 who isn’t back til next week has just come into the front room and sighed huffily at the fact that I am in here as he wants to play on the Xbox (I’m not stopping him, he just doesn’t like me being here). DS 2 is now also huffy as he wanted to play on the Xbox.
I went to the library this morning that has just opened for click and collect and got six books that I’ve been waiting to read since Christmas. I knew they were there waiting but couldn’t get them! Now must go back to work, I just came out of the office to say hello to DS2.

@EternalOptimist7 - That would be lovely!

No, the owl I need to keep happy is the little green bundle of guilt from Duolingo. I am on a 377 day streak.

DD is still asleep after a long walk this morning and late lunch. I’m having to be quiet as DH on air (he presents a radio show).
When DD wakes up we’ll go and feed the horse, then home for dinner. Monday’s are my day off-I work Tues-Fri.
I’ve achieved sod all today though, full of cold (not Covid) and feel rotten.

Just got back from picking DC up from school. They are watching tv and eating ice lollies. DH is in a work meeting in the other room. Cats are sleeping upstairs. I am having a drink, considering messaging someone about how not-ok I am but almost certainly won’t, before I start washing up (dishwasher has broken) and cook dinner before online brownies for DC1, then I get DC2 ready for bed, make packed lunches, get changed and go to work for a night shift.

@Prokupatuscrakedatus oh THAT owl! That owl's pretty annoying actually! I'm doing housework DS had gone for (I hope) a good, long head-clearing walk, DD isn't at school until Wednesday and DH is working. I think I'm ready to go back to normal...I think.

We live at the bottom of a dale so this has been the first week since December to have proper sunlight streaming in through the windows it's wonderful.
Blue skies, bulbs coming up, DS back at school, a good feeling here!

Just had an early tea with the kids. DH is at work until 10pm so I need to tackle DD's hair wash alone, she is 4 and screams bloody murder when having it washed, so I'm not looking forward to that.

Then once the kids are in bed I'm going to watch Your Honour, a new drama on Fox. Feeling really shitty today so going to have an early night too.

I'm half watching University Challenge waiting to watch The Interview (I need something distracting that I don't really care about). DH is reconciling the joint bank account and angrily querying the Milk & More bills. We are both really stressed at the moment. MIL broke her hip recently and she's due home tomorrow. It was cancelled yesterday and she's gone into complete panic mode and keeps ringing to check the arrangements. She's (understandably) not herself and it's incredibly draining, especially for DH who's used to a very independent mother and she's suddenly become incredibly needy and angry. Hopefully by this time tomorrow calm will have been restored.

Having been told that it's fine, he's perfectly capable of reading the booklet and watching the video and it's easy don't know why I made so much fuss by gagging and swearing after doing it last night I'm listening to DP cough, gag and swear through his first Lateral Flow Swab in the spare room.

I am in bed because I was up at five for work and my feet are killing me.
