If your Secret Santa recipient loved their gift, is it OK to tell them who gave it to them? What's the etiquette?

I think that's against the spirit of SS. I would leave it as a secret.

I really enjoyed closing it, and I'm delighted that they are delighted, but I suppose I'll just have to sit on that delightedness.

I was part of a secret Santa with a group of friends this year and made the mistake of also entering my small kids into it. Which meant I had FOUR presents to source/buy/post. And of course the one person who never received a gift from their own secret Santa was, of course, me 🙁

Etiquette says that if you're in the draw, you buy a darn gift for your person dammit!

Sorry, I realise that doesn't answer your question op, I'm just still feeling a little sore!

I think you should always tell. Especially if you're happy. But no one ever agrees 🙄

I usually want to know so I can say thank you, especially if it's a really good present! Nobody ever agrees with me though!

In the spirit of SS, no, you shouldn't say you bought it.

Then again, I understand what you mean and as a pp said, a little 'I'm glad you liked it Wink ' might not be breaking the rules.
