I don't know how to interpret the rules, can I meet a friend and walk with them or not?

I saw a report of 2 friends who met up but were fined £200 each. My son 17 and his 16yr old gf are desperate to meet. If I'm honest I can't rely on them to socially distance😬 her family have always been relaxed regarding the rules, they invited him round on New Year's Eve but I had to put my foot down, I'm sick of being the baddie

I live in Scotland and we are allowed to meet another household I'm sure. You haven't said what country you live in so it's hard to give advice.

In England you are allowed to meet one other person but still must social distance. I think the 2 that were fined had also been to Costa or somewhere and the Police said that they were having a picnic Hmm

Yes you can. The police are being over zealous!

There was a video clip of a woman on the sea front being arrested today. She had been seen in the town and then on the sea front. Apparently that went against the good will of 1 exercise a day. She said she'd been seen by them doing her shopping in the town.
I met a friend for a walk today, my daughter came with me. I then didn't know if that was allowed!!
