Anyone actually had any success with reviving doll hair?

Dd bought herself a VIP pet with her pocket money the other day.

She loves it and enjoys styling the hair

Unfortunately, like all synthetic doll hair; it’s gone frizzy and unmanageable.

I tried the fabric softener on one doll a couple of years ago and it didn’t work.

Either I didn’t do it properly, or it was a rubbish tip

So, is there any way of making the hair smooth to style again?

Watching with interest. I’ve tried a number of YouTube tutorials but nothing has worked. My DDs My Little Pony have all got frizzy tangled messes

You need to soak in fabric conditioner at least overnight, then vaguely rinse it out. Comfort worked on ours.

we successfully used leave-in hair conditioner.
and a sewing pin to detangle from bottom to top.

I did some old 80's dolls just using normal hair conditioner. Separate it into smaller sections and work from bottom up.

I managed with a barbi ages ago. Yo7 will need to trim it though.
Dunk the head in boiling water with fabric condition in. Leave for a few hours. Comb through and trim the ends.

If all else fails, you can buy the hair and re rout with a crochet hook.

i have had success on our generation dolls using a tangle teaser ,but they weren't massively frizzy .

My sister buys and sells dolls. AFAIK she uses inexpensive ordinary shampoo and conditioner to wash their 'hair' and it usually works.
