I applied ages ago, then they aborted the recruitement process due to covid. Communication was good at the time and I've just been asked to go for interview on Friday.
I was really excited about the role when I applied, it's a big step up in my current field, a role a know I can do well and approx 30% payrise! It will also be far more challenging and likely involve longer hours.
However, in the meantime, DH had been diagnosed with cancer, he will actually be in hospital recovering from a major operation on the day of the interview and has been told at least 12 weeks' recovery during which he will need support. Then, depending on how things go, he may need to start other cancer treatments.
My current employer has been brilliant, allowed lots of flexibility and time off and really could not have been more supportive.
I'm really torn. It would be easier to stay and have the easier life but the reason I applied for the new role was that before this crisis I was really quite bored.
I'm also facing the very real prospect of becoming the sole breadwinner, at least for a period of time, so the opportunity to earn a much better salary is maybe too good to turn down?
