I've Been Stupid

I heard someone outside our house coughing. It sounded like they were choking - you know the cough when someone has something stuck. I went out to give them some water but they said they were fine and they were smoking weed (loathe that smell)

They could have Covid, couldn't they?

I suppose I was around six feet away most of the time, and they didn't cough when I was there, but my lungs feel full of the weed smoke.

I must have been mad. I just never thought about Covid. I just thought someone was suffering.

Can't believe it.

Honestly, I think you need to calm down.

Hardly anyone has covid, so it isn't the most likely reason for the cough.

Even if they did... How do you think you might have caught it from this interaction?

Bless you for being kind! I think it'll be very low risk, make sure you wash hands carefully and the glass, what more can you do?

I had to take my child to the opticians last week - v close, 20 mins, tiny room with only a wonky mask between them.

Your interaction was shorter, further away and outside. You'd be VERY unlucky to catch it this way.

To be honest, I don't think I would catch it. Though I feel full of cough from the weed smoke. And it didn't sound like a dry cough, but a 'crumb in throat' type cough.

It just brought me up short. I took out a bottle of water, and kept my distance, but impulsive kindness could be risky.

What a time we live in.

Is this a joke?

That was kind of you.

The covid cough is dry and short so if they sounded like they were trying to hack something up it wasn't covid.

Seriously? Don't be so daft.
