We have a Bestway 3m x 2m pool.

The kids love it it but I'm getting fed up of refilling it and cleaning it every time we want to use it.

It came with a piddly little filter that didn't do a thing.

Can anyone suggest what I can do please!

www.amazon.co.uk/Clearwater-CH0018-Lay-Z-Spa-Chemical-Treatment/dp/B004U6HCGU/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&s=outdoors&keywords=hot%20tub%20care&qid=1596548586&sr=1-2&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21

We bought this and DH now checks the water daily - the PH, the chlorine, the whole thing. It's like a hobby for him. Amazon also sell proper pool filters you can attach (we have the Intex Krystal) and skimmers as well as proper covers. We bought a huge framed pool at the start of lockdown and attach the filter to it every night when the DC have finished. DH skims it to get the grass etc out, uses the chemicals and it's been brilliant. Cover it every time they've finished, use the chemicals and keep changing the filter cartridge every 4/5 days and it'll be much easier to maintain.

Also, I soak the filters in Milton overnight so they can be reused - much cheaper than constantly buying new ones and it works well to clean them.

Exactly the same as pp, right down to it being a hobby for dh.
He’s forever out there tinkering.
We also bought a heater and some pretty fairy lights to go around the outside!
We keep our filter going constantly but switch it off if we get in, replaced the filter that came with it as we seemed to need something much more heavy duty than the one it came with and the filter was blocking on a daily basis. Ours is 12ft I think, maybe 14, I can’t quite remember, it’s a round one.
We got a ‘Hoover’ for it to suck up any grass and crap that falls and sits in the bottom, he uses it about twice a week, I use the net to scoop off anything that drops in as and when we use it but the cover is on it when not in use so it seems to stay pretty clean what with that and all the chemicals and treatments etc.

The hoover thing is the first picture, you attach the bit that sticks out into the filter system (some how, none of this is my forte, I’m the netter Grin ) and then the heater we ordered online (expensive but we figured that this pool was basically our summer holidays as ours was cancelled) and also somehow magically plumbs into the filter?!
We bought a garden storage box to house the heater and filter and keep them out of the way and protected from the elements!

The heater sounds amazing, I daren’t show it to DH because it’ll just step up his hobby another notch!

You need to clean the filter. You can test the ph to keep it at 7.4 and add chlorine if you like. Use a cover to keep debris off. We use a pool hoover but our pool is much bigger. We have a sand filter but they are pricey.

@DipSwimSwoosh what do you have? I could be tempted into a really big thing!
