Will your dc be wearing trainers to school in September?

My dc school has said they can wear trainers as pe kits will not be allowed to be taken in.

I would rather they wore shoes and on pe days, wear trainers all day.

Will your children be wearing school shoes when they return or trainers all week?

Shoes

They haven't (yet) told is PE arrangements so far.

I'm in two minds about the advisability of teenagers wearing PE kit for the whole day (depending on how vigorously they exercise, and how hot the day)

Especially those in squads - who might well have training on several days, as well as lessons.

Yes, he always wears plain black Nike or Adidas trainers as do most of the school. None of the boys wear proper leather type shoes. No change here.

I think I am going to buy ds (6) a pair of black trainers for September instead of the usual clarks style school shoe.

Mainly because I bought him new school shoes in February (along with new trousers and jumpers and shorts) and have passed all of them on, virtually unworn because they now no longer fit.

At least if he has black trainers he can wear them at home if we have another lockdown.

Dd, going into 6th form will have shoes. And also had to buy new blazer and new skirts.

We don't know PE arrangements yet, but I've got the first time ever bought ds plain black trainers for school (primary). I've just got rid of hardly worn school shoes and can't afford to do that again. If education is going to be on/off, at least he'll get some wear out of them.

I got DS 7 new school shoes at Feb half term, 42 quid, worn three weeks and now don't fit. School have insisted full school uniform for Sept, including black leather shoes. Reading this, I might just go with black trainers for when he goes back, cannot afford to waste more money on something he will never wear unless at school.

I was considering black trainers but as they already had a relatively new pair of trainers I decided to get shoes and then wear trainers on pe days.

For one of my dc it will be their first year at school and the thought of them wearing trainers makes it seem unusual.

DS will be wearing black trainers all day every day (Y4)
DD school already wear PE kit all day on PE days (Y2) - we were saying we think all schools should do this all the time (primary, anyway). No word on whether she's supposed to wear them other days too.

Shoes.
School have already said that there will be no food to buy at break, and there will be no PE.

Sorry, have reported blush

She will be wearing school shoes. My school has always had them wear PE kit all day on PE days as it used to take the children so long to get changed 🙈

drspouse Sun 02-Aug-20 09:24:59

@RosieLemonade it's so sensible isn't it?

onemouseplace Sun 02-Aug-20 09:30:10

School shoes. PE kit all day on PE days.

Meangallery Sun 02-Aug-20 09:31:41

I would love them to be able to wear more comfortable shoes like trainers to school - long walk, but we’ve been told it’s full uniform.

OldFloweryCardigan Sun 02-Aug-20 09:37:39

We've been told "full school uniform" which includes a blazer, and definitely no trainers.
God I can't wait to be through with school. Only another year to go.

megletthesecond Sun 02-Aug-20 09:39:31

Mine are secondary. School shoes unless it's PE day and then they have to wear PE kit all day.

AvoidingRealHumans Sun 02-Aug-20 10:03:10

Ours are doing trainers everyday and going in wearing full PE kits on PE days

No my son will be wearing proper school shoes. His school have said full uniform is to be worn - trousers, shirt, tie, jumper and proper school shoes.
I'm glad as he is starting reception and I'm looking forward to him wearing his uniform

I am so with you - the petty uniform rules really wear me down. Every bloody newsletter the school sends out has me eye rolling.

Private school right? Tie in reception - very practical!

Theforest Sun 02-Aug-20 10:24:26

No. Both primary and secondary DC have to wear full uniform

madrose Sun 02-Aug-20 10:28:17

DD going into year 11. Thankfully brought black DMs at the start of the year and her feet haven't grown, so they will do for this year. Uniform every day unless they have PE and then they'll wear PE kit all day.

tywysoges Sun 02-Aug-20 10:53:24

All black trainers are allowed at DD’s school, so she will probably be wearing those (Y7).
