Mounting a TV on a fireplace wall

Has anyone else done this? We have a wood burning stove and would like to mount our TV above it. We have a solid fire place and mantelpiece and there would be a good distance between the mantelpiece and the bottom of the TV. The mantelpiece doesn't get hot and neither does the wall behind it.
Our front room is a really odd shape and space wise it would be a perfect spot to put it. but there seems to be mixed advice regarding safety.

We had one on a fireplace wall, but we had a gas fire not a log burner. We also chased out the wall, so the wires weren’t visible, because I don’t like the look of dangling wires. We had to faff about making good when we moved though.

we've done this in two houses now it was absolutely fine. OH is in charge of DIY so don't ask me the details but we (he) just use our common sense wrt heat and wall suitability etc

Just make sure it's at a comfortable screen height to watch the tv or you could be craning your neck to watch

We have this. But not a log burner. Made a mistake buying the additional speakers so you can see the 2 wires hanging which I detest. But otherwise no problem with the actual set up. The tv can be moved forward (Adjustable mount) if we need
