Mono vision contact lenses - exhaustion?

Just wondering if this could be a cause. Or if maybe it could be cause I am still in standard vision glasses the east of the tine (and haven’t got any verifocals yet).

Have had the mono idiom for about 7 months and mainly ok: good vision, no headaches.

During this time I have also had multiple UTIs and been pretty wiped. Assumed the exhaustion was related to them. However now clear of those (hopefully!): I am prophylactic antibiotics.

Still exhausted!

I eat very healthily. I exercise. I don’t smoke, drink little. Sleep well. Work part time (26.5 hours a week), but intellectually demanding and screen intensive. One child, but very active home life (activities, travel etc).

I am 45, but don’t think this level of constant exhaustion is “normal” (for someone otherwise fit and active).

Grasping at straws with the eyesight....

Vitamin levels? I had v.low vit D and taking supplements helped with the exhaustion.

I currently take a multivitamin, omega 3-6-9, high dose vitamin D and a probiotic. So it shouldn’t be vitamin deficiency....

Good thought though Smile

I also took a multivitamin, but had a definite deficiency. It's worth getting your levels tested.

I really don't think contact lenses could cause exhaustion!

Vit d, thyroid, iron far more likely.

If your vision is good with the contact lenses and they are comfortable I don't think they would be contributing to your exhaustion.

I wore contact lenses for around 30 years. A few years ago I changed to glasses because contact lenses were making my eyes sore due to dry eyes. Also I was not seeing out of them as well since my close up vision was getting worse so needed varifocals. I suppose the sore eyes and not seeing very well may have made me more tired.

Thanks

Eyes not sore at all, all comfortable, but pretty sure that my brain must be working harder to switch between eyes at different distances and “screen focussing” can be a little on the boundary of the two.

I am having a full hospital medical the week after next: hope that will pick up any thyroid/vitamin problems.

Have you tried wearing glasses for a few days to see if you feel better without contacts?

Perimenipause? Have you had your hormone levels checked?

Sorry, when I first posted I didn't realise what mono vision lenses were. Yes, I do think they could make you tired. That's what I had before I gave up on contact lenses. I had to take a break from them because of my dry eyes and I found I didn't want to go back to wearing them. It is so much easier to focus with varifocal glasses.
