Got woken up by huge crash of thunder about 15 minutes ago. Since then really heavy rain, and a lot of almost simultaneous thunder and sheet lightening. I think its movi g away slightly now but we were obviously directly beneath it for a while.

Just looked up and seen a massive jag of fork lightening too.

Never been scared but am now. DP and dd away and ds thankfully seems to en sleeping through

Anyone else been woken by storm?

Yep! I'm not keen at all really. DH away too, so nobody took cling to! Not that I would want to in this heat...

I was awake anyway, but sounds as if we might be near.
I was convinced somewhere nearby must have been struck by the lightening.
It was SO noisy.

Been watching it for the last hour with my 2 year old (who won't sleep) and my 12 year old who got woken by it. I love storms. 2 year old is a bit confused and keeps calling it McQueen. Grin

We were camping in France once during a storm like this one - I was absolutely petrified! It was so loud we were shouting at each other and still couldn’t hear anything that was said.

Completely mad storm here in the Peak District, lightning flashes every few seconds and booming thunder.

I'm struggling to sleep tonight and was just drifting off when the storm kicked in about 30 mins ago.

I don't mind the thunder, because once that's happening there's nothing to be scared of. It's the lightning that freaks me out because that's the dangerous bit.

Urgh as I'm typing my 6 year old has got in bed with me as it's woken him, so now I can't starfish.

I have also been in rent in a massive storm, in Hawkshead in the Lakes, when I was 15. The ground shook and the thunder was deafening. Not an experience id recommend 😂

Yep, Eileen by lightening here, I don't think it's raining, but have a fan on so can't hear over that and the constant rolling thunder.
I'm definitely freaked out! Dh is in the spare room as I've got both kids (3 and 2 months) in our room and he's on call with work (call phone stupidly loud!) So I'm here freaking out by myself. Luckily both kids sleeping through it!

@julensaor Ha! That made me snort my G&T out of my nose (painful). I'm in the US so it's not 3am, but still...

Bloody racket woke me up at 0330, and now I have to decide: waterproof coat and drown in sweat, or just drown? The latter I think. Today's customer requires eye protection from flying dust as well, so there's staggering about in a fog to look forward to.
On the positive side, it's containers, so most of the shift will be spent surfing the web or asleep.
