probably a really stupid question (so thank god for mumsnet!) but do you have to have anything else plugged in to the tv set for it to work...we've only 1 scart socket

You can get a scart switching box at Argos for £10 which will convert your TV to have many scart sockets

Yup. Sorry it's not more complex than that. Argos do them, or Maplin, Currys, Comet. The usual suspects.

You can get them with two, four, or eight scart sockets. If you need the eight socket one, you probably need to go out more.

just told dh i have been looking into what what we will need, he told me that we have a scart box behind the tv and looked at me as tho i was mad....must talk to dh more (than mn) in future

LOL - ha my ex-dh went out and bought one and proudly showed it to me and I then showed him the little flap on the back of the TV concealing the extra scart sockets

moronic question (and have checked with dh first this time!)

apparently the wii connects to these at the back of the telly ,now we don't have these at the back of the telly but we do have them on the dvd and video. will the wii work if we attach it to one of these instead?
