No arguments. No 'no really it's too much for you with the kids. No 'wouldn't you rather come to us'. No need for pathetic behind the scenes attempts to persuade DH to go to my parents again without sulking.

Yes but I like that ! And cooking dinner for 8 is a doddle compared with juggling egos and feelings!

All I need now is to suddenly be able to afford a new bigger house so it won't be such a squeeze.....

That's ok then - it'd be my worst nightmare!! I tend to just hide in a corner with ds' new toys on Christmas day - it's safer that way!!

We have always had loads of people at Mum's house for Christmas and quite a few times my sister and I got to eat our dinner on the sofa becuase there wasn't enough room for us at the table!

Wow well done, I tried that last year. They were having none of it.

When I clicked on this I thought you were going to say you'd completed all your christmas shopping and had it all wrapped and labelled (I do know someone who has...)

I'm getting drunk enough working up the courage to ask DH if we can invite my entire hige family. i hav to ask him because he cooks and i know my family are tiresome.
