How about a sharing platter thing - crusty bread (French stick, rolls), bruschetta, Spanish meats (for the non pregnant people), a bit of cooked ham for you, cheese, olives, grapes, tomatoes, dipping sauces/ oils.

Our starter depends on what we're having for pudding and what I served for breakfast. If I haven't served pastries for breakfast, I'll usually do a pastry tart. However, most of my best Christmas tart recipes have either Stilton, Brie or goat's cheese, all of which pregnant women are advised to avoid!
If I serve up pastries for breakfast, I usually go for a salmon starter. This is a great recipe for an easy salmon en croute which I made ahead a froze. I served it in slices with a wedge of lemon and a watercress garnish.

If you have enough individual ramikins, you could do little prawn gratins.

We do bacon rolls, pastries, toast/eggs for breakfast.

Snacking food for lunch (+ a lot of chocolate)

Then blinis with cream cheese and smoked salmon for starters with lemon juice and black pepper.

RiceKrispie - unless advice has changed again then stilton, brie etc are fine if cooked so post away, those tarts sound yum!

I make a layered smoked salmon terrine every year. It’s a little fiddly but you can make ahead then it’s really easy to just slice it up and serve on the day.
