Can you suggest any gifts I could get for my little grandson who will be 3 months old at Christmas please? The toys etc that I have seen in shops that looked suitable all seem to start at 6 months.

Maybe you could buy a keepsake Christmas decoration?

That's because babies don't play much with toys at 3 months. Get him something for when he is older. You could ask his parents what he needs?

Mine loved Lamaze socks at that age

Definitely something for when he's older - some really good quality wooden toys perhaps.

Also does he have a baby gym? That'll be useful soon enough.

Books would be great also , some board books with lovely textures for when he's bigger. It's never too early to read to a baby.

Something like this safer than a bulky coat or snowsuit in the car, easy to remove in shop and you can pop it on without waking a sleeping baby if you are going outdoors.

6-9 and 9-12 month clothes, stacking cups for the 6 month+ stage, simple bath toys...basically things they will need between Christmas and their birthday. There's not much they need at that stage and my baby was around that age last Christmas. We had to buy a lot of bigger size clothes later in the year as we'd mainly been given smaller sizes when she was born, and although I was a bit surprised at the toys she got for Christmas (it felt like lots and none could be used at that point), we would have had to buy them later anyway so it was great having them put away. Also anything weaning-related they might need as that will be coming up in a few months.

DS was 3 months old on this first Christmas. We gave him a toy box with some toys-for-now and some for the next year as he got older. His grandparents gave him a lovely nightlight and some books.

DD was 2 months old for her first Christmas, She got a rag doll, a few more soft toys and books.

Thank you so much everyone for all your really helpful suggestions, I have just ordered a few things from the Lamaze website including the socks and the wrist rattles and also the Monkey Links that look very good, I am going to look up your other suggestions now and really appreciate your help x
