I'm turning to the hive mind for some ideas for what to get my DD who is 4 two weeks before Christmas. We know we are getting her a bike as her birthday present (probably) and then a stocking for Christmas will have all of the usual stuff but I have no idea what to get her for her proper Christmas present.

She has a dolls house, scooter, blackboard and easel, nicely decorated bedroom and loads of clothes. Aunties will be asking next what to get her and I'm going to suggest games (I know she wants Gooey Louie) but what can we get her as her main present?

She likes trolls, minions, toy story, unicorns, colouring and cutting out - that sort of stuff. We'd like to get her a trampoline but that will be something we do in the spring/summer.

I think she should have a 'main' present but nothing is jumping out to me. Help!

My DS also has his birthday two weeks before Christmas - it's a nightmare each year!!!
We always end up giving him a big Christmas present at Christmas, then for his birthday we always have a party of some description. As he's getting older (10 this year), this now tends to be a trip to the cinema with friends and a meal afterwards. We tried a sleepover for 4 friends a few years back - that will never happen again!! Well not unless I have an intravenous of gin whilst it goes on!!

DS2 his first proper Lego the Christmas he was 3 (he kept wanting to play with his big brother's). A 'classic box' of multicoloured bricks from one set of grandparents and a set of mainly figures ('fun in the park') from the others.

I was going to suggest a trampoline! My ds has a December birthday and I always try to get him something that he can use throughout the year iyswim! So a trampoline might not get as much use in the winter but will still be a wow present.

Playmobil or Lego? Mothercare have a nice wooden fairy tale palace. When I was younger we got our trampoline for Christmas and managed to use it fine :) DS uses his all year round too
