We're having a Christmas party and need to buy mulled wine in large quantities Grin Where does the best bottled mulled wine - and anyone know of any good deals around?

Lidl and Aldi usually do quite cheap but quite decent mulled wine.

I'd say Aldi/Lidl too but why not make your own?

Once you get the spices (or buy a ready made Mulled Wine spice pack in the Herbs and Spices bit or where the Wines are in supermarkets)

Cinnamon stick, cloves, orange slices, lemon slices, apple, brandy, red wine, sugar. You can keep adding as you need to, but don't boil it.

I made it once , smelled lush, but I don't drink and I don't like wine Grin

Depends on how much you need and how much to mulled wine costs compared to red wine. (And if you don't use it all, you'll have red wine left rather than mulled )

I think it would be cheaper to buy ready mulled wine and the alcohol content would usually be lower too? Did you add orange juice or anything else to your mulled wine, 70isa?

Your own would be nicer

I've never tasted a home made mulled wine that was as nice as Saintsbury's. Mostly I find them too bitter and have to avoid debris floating in them.

People don't put enough sugar in their homemade mulled wine, IMO.

Aldi's is very good.

Mulled cider is very nice too. And you can make an alcohol free version using apple juice.

Yum.

I love homemade but I would recommend for bulk to buy IKEA mulled wine. It's about £2 and I think it's one of the better ones out there.
