looking for a book for a 14 yr old about spies/Cold War/or similar

Any ideas gratefully received.
He's a good reader but I'm looking for something engaging and not dry!

There is a WW2 one, The book thief, it covers communism.

You can get the whole series of Alex Rider (reluctant teenage spy) books for £15 in the works at the moment. Think they may be aimed at slightly younger teens but I still love them at the ripe old age of 28 smile

The CHERUB series are aimed at slightly older teens and are again about teenage spys. The same author also wrote the Henderson Boys which I haven't read but I think they are about teenage spys used during WW2
