I'm stumped, only previously had to buy for female teachers in the past. I know I could do wine/chocs but seems a bit boring and not sure if he's a drinker! Any inspiration gratefully accepted, thank you.

Ooh watching with interest! I've been wondering what to get for DS's teacher, my only idea so far is a nice pen!

Good coffee, cinema voucher, hardware voucher, starbucks voucher, car wash voucher, book store voucher, book, torch (I'm yet to meet a man who doesn't love torches!!!), set of screwdrivers, spices for barbeque...

DP always loves a card with some nice words by the child and/or parent (normally thanks at end of year, rather than Xmas).

Presents wise, can't go wrong with -

Chocolates
Indian spices
Beer (couple of large Cobra or Peroni bottles, normally 3 for £5 in sainsburys)
Whiskey / vodka
Candle (Yankee)
Amazon voucher
CD of some sort (compilation music)

noted that I've listed mainly alcohol Grin

Chocolates/wine/cake etc. As lovely as teachers are, its not the same as buying a present for your family (fortunately)!

One of BILs is a very popular head teacher and he always says its quite embarrassing to get anything other than chocs/wine which are always useful at christmas and appreciated by someone, and (as a HT) easy for him to share with other staff who don't get gifts. Or general jokey stuff goes down with him - he has a great time with the children and has amassed a collection of joke books and little practical joke things. I remember him saying that other stuff feels a bit too personal and random as its hard for people to know what he actually likes so every year he sends a box of mugs/diaries etc to the charity shop. He particularly hates anything with a monetary value (vouchers/cash - happens!) from individuals, unless its a collection.

Even if he used 2 be a teacher,it`s bad idea to present him smth connected with alcohol.
Better 2 give him Kettle
Or smth like this.
