What Can I Buy This Man?

I love shopping for DC so am not rushing that but I want to get all the boring shopping I have to do out of the way.

Ideally under £10.

He likes Guitars/Rock, Dr Who, Formula 1/Car Racing.

Last year I bought him some racing related DVDs.

I'm a man, who likes Doctor Who, F1, and SOME 1960s '70s music, particularly Pink Floyd, ELP (Emerson, Lake & Palmer), Colosseum, 10cc, and for MEANINGFUL SONGS, Dory Previn and Pete Atkin, but mostly I like jazz and Classical music!

I LOVE the Lake District, and read books by, and about, Alfred Wainwright.

I assume he isn't you DH/DP, otherwise I would hope you might be spending a bit more than £10!

IF, by any chance, he likes history and/or maps I have a collection of old, large scale maps from the Alan Godfrey on-line store.

The maps cover towns and some villages throughout the UK, and dates range from 1850s to 1930s. Some maps are produced in several different dates; I have three different versions of where I used to live in London, and it is fascinating to see how an area changes over time. Railways feature a lot, and they are useful for anyone interested in industrial archaeology or social history.

So if there is any part of the country where he used to live, visited on holiday or lives now, or any period of history he is interested in, might maps be a possibility? Mostly they are only £2.50 each, with postage £1.25 per order. A few maps are in colour, and might be £1 dearer.

In my experience ordering has always been speedy and efficient. I provide a link to their site:

www.alangodfreymaps.co.uk/

This may seem a strange consideration, but I certainly love them.

Are you/is he anywhere near Cardiff and the Doctor Who Experience?

He might like a ticket to that, although it's probably a little more than £10.

Otherwise, these prints are only £11 on easy.com and they have lots of other Doctor Who-y stuff on there too.

Otherwise, you could try a poster with song lyrics on it.

And also on easy there's this guitar plectrum key ring.

Not on easy or easy.com. Etsy and etsy.com.

Autocorrect is a pig sometimes.

Thanks some great suggestions. I might get him the set of Dr Who Prints, but am not sure. I'm wondering whether I should just buy the Keith Richard autobiography and be done with it.

I don't think he would be appreciative of those lovely old maps and I know his wife wouldn't allow the salt and pepper shakes into the house, even if he loved them.

The feature length first episode of the new dr who series is coming out on DVD soon which would fit your budget. Though if he's likely to get the full dr who series 8 for Christmas that would be a little pointless.

A doctor who cd if he likes the music?
