Hi all,
Just wondered if anyone went to Lapland uk last year and if you'd recommend it? Early booking offer has become available until 30th and was thinking of booking for dd's birthday at end of November - but for £258 for the 4 of us it's a lot to pay out and not sure if it's worth it?!we always do a family day out for each birthday - last year we did chessington for Ds and longleat Xmas for dd, this year legoland for Ds. So Lapland uk would be treated as dd's birthday day out and also would incorporate our Santa visit too

My friend went in 2012 & said it was terrible... Not worth the money at all.

It did not live up to the hype on it's website & was so muddy they couldn't get round it all anyway.

They moved last year (2013) to Windsor so hopefully better.

We went in 2011 and loved. Yes its expensive and they really shouldn't charge what they do for adults, BUT my dd who was 5 nearly 6 at the time completely believed the whole thing and the look on her face was fab! We had a nearly 3 year old with us and our own other dd who wasn't 1 and tbh it went over the nearly 3 year olds head and there was almost too much going on and we didn't expect our younger dd to get much from it and she didn't lol so I'd say if your children are between 4 and 9 then yes. Also like you say you do a family day out anyway so why not?
I will just add, we did Chessington a few days before Christmas (the day after the grotto burned down) and we stayed at the hotel and the whole thing was great. They changed our Santa visit obviously but we really enjoyed it and are trying to decide between that again or Lapland UK for this year.
I do think Lapland UK is a nice place to go and I don't think you'd be disappointed.

We went in 2012 and 2011 before it changed locations. It is quite a money pit but my 2 absolutely LOVED it. We were so sad when it moved. Father Christmas was one of the best and most realistic we have seen.

puffin just wondered why we're you sad when it moved - new location worse or just that it was too far for you to travel to?!
