What have your older girls (pre teen) loved?

DD has sewing machine, i-pod touch, violin, art equipment etc from previous Christmases. This is the first year I haven't a clue, she borrows our tablets and doesn't need any more tech. All she has mentioned is a calligraphy set. She doesn't get that excited about clothes (neither do I). What else (stuff) has gone down well with your older girls?

DD had a proper dolls house at that age. It was from The Dolls House Emporium and was similar to this We bought it flat packed which worked out so much cheaper and it was pretty simple to put togeher. DD loved choosing wallpapers and furniture and it was something that she added to over the years.

Other things we got her from this age were her own hairdryer and straighteners, celebrity perfume such as Britney Spears, not too expensive but real jewellery and a descent watch.

Books? Does she have a favourite author?
Gym wear/sports gear?
Recipe book and cool utensils if she likes cooking?
Voucher to get nails done?

Thanks. Not bothered about dollshouses, sadly for me. Maybe some hair crimpers would go down well though. Will get her some books too.

My nearly eleven year old loved her Coolpix camera last year. It is still a treasured belonging, she takes it with her everywhere :)

The same year we bought her a bat-detector for her birthday, she is bat obsessed and wants to become a chiroptologist when she grows up. We frequently take early-evening walks along the nearby canal and listen to the bats on the detector whilst watching them fly overhead.

Her other passion is horses so horse riding related items and horse riding vouchers are always a hit.

She loves stationery, notebooks with matching pens being the holy grail!

And books, she is a real bookworm and always has a long list of books she would like to read.

Will watch with interest, as I'm at a loss for Christmas this year. For her birthday dd aged 12 received an iPod Touch, which she loves. I know she'd like a new mobile, but I think the old Samsung she has is sufficient at present.

One of these square shaped makeup kits (full of makeup/nail varnishes) that you see in boots/Debenhams/john lewis in the run up to Christmas.
Not that i'm suggesting your preteen should wear make up of course, but I found with my dd at that age when friends came round 'experimenting' with make up was a popular past time.

My DD is 9 (almost 10) and she is getting an ipod touch this year.

She also wants a leather satchel, Pineapple sportswear (but otherwise she is not into clothes), and things for her hobbies (gym and ballet).

In the past she has also had hair curlers, which I use for parties and discos etc. That was a popular present.
