Please help me decide. Is the Kindle Fire in the hand, worth the Samsung tablet in the bush?

I am getting a tablet for 'Christmas' in the sense that though I am sourcing my gift I can't open it till Xmas day.
Anyway I bought kindle fire for £99 but have now spotted a cash back deal on the Samsung Galaxy tablet through pc world so if I buy a tablet from them I get
£50 cash back. The spec is similar but the Samsung is probably more more flexible. I do use amazon a lot though so am not sure whether to stick with the fire or send it back? Any wise words oh MN'rs? Cash back deals can be an arse ache so that is a bit off putting.

I could have written your post, I ordered a kindle fire then saw the PCworld offers, and DH explained that the Samsung was more versatile as not limited to amazon account and you can add extra memory by adding a SD card into the Samsung but not the Fire.

I am now playing with my new Xmas toy, a Samsung galaxy tab 2 and sending the kindle fire back tomorrow as I have not even opened the box but they dispatched it so quickly that I was unable to cancel the kindle fire delivery.

Just note, to get £50 cashback, you need to buy a case at the same time and you can only claim the £50 30 days after buying it. I chose a belkin cover that cost £29.99 in the shop but there is a special offer and it was reduced to £19.99 in the shop when bought with the Samsung. I love the Samsung galaxy tab 2 already

We used to be all iphone/ipad but we are moving towards android as there is more choice and they are cheaper so you get more for your money

Samsung at pc world think you have to buy a case to get a £20 voucher from pc world. You then get £30 (and possibly a igb memory card) direct from Samsung.

Bit Tesco have 20% off so you can get the 7" for £158 and then £30 cashback from Samsung plus memory card. 1000 clubcard points too.

(10" is £238 and £50 cashback).

Check t&c on Samsung cashback. It is only some suppliers. I am seriously tempted (but wanted nexus 7) but will ring Samsung to check Tesco are in deal before I buy.

Samsung with cashback deal ordered from PC world - went for the £169 back version and I got a cheapo case as the fancy dan one was collect only. I am printing out the returns label for the Kindle as I type.The samsung and I will be very happy together (I hope!) cheers again

My local Currys is out of stock so I am still awaiting the delivery to the shop of the 2 Samsung that I bought/ordered (one on behalf of DSis and one for DH present). Luckily, I already have mine (as a present from DH to me ). We will be full of Samsung Galaxies once we get hold of all ordered.
