Anyone know anything about Kurios?

We've been quite anti electronic games (and skint) for years but I am determined to buy DS8 something good this year as we have enough money. He wants an ipod touch but I have also been looking at google nexus or kindle fire. Half the kids in his class already have Ipads and i always feel a bit sorry for him that he hasn't got the same gadgets as others!
Anyhow DH has just gone out and bought a Kurio for him.
This led to an almighty row so he said he would put it on ebay.
Now I am wondering if I over-reacted. What is the kurio like? Can you download all the games like angry birds, fifa etc?

Hello, I've just discovered the Kurio by accident today and have spent ages searching for reviews. There seem to be lots of happy parents and lots who are not so happy. I think there are too many bad reviews for me to want to buy one for my DS for xmas even though it's only £120 (20% off) in ELC. I may plump for the Nexus which is £190 in John Lewis and at least comes with a 2 year warranty. Saying that I do like the look of the Kurio and my son is only 5 1/2 so I'm sure he'd be delighted with it. I just don't want to risk it. As far as I know it does come with Angry Birds and lots of great games apps. Or they're easily downloadable. Let me know if you keep it and what you think. Can't your DH take it back to the shop?
