Hi, I want to get DD a dolls house for Christmas (she will be just 5) but don't know where to start!

At the moment she loves playing with her Peppa Pig and George figures and will make houses for them out of anything she can find.

I'd like a house I can fit her existing Peppa stuff in (she has a bedroom playset and a dining table and chairs) and which can also accommodate Sylvanian Families stuff and possibly playmobil figures too (which I know some relatives are planning to get her).

She has "asked" for a "giant" dolls house like this but has never ever ever had any interest in fashion dolls like Barbie...yet...

So, I don't know where to start with dolls houses, can anyone recommend one which she will love now and she can grow into?

Thanks!

i would get her the one she wants, she will love that and play with it more than any other choice. Dolls houses seem to have a short shelf life these days.

The thing is she thinks she wants a giant dolls house because she has a friend with one like that. But I don't think she would play with it, and she would play with one that fitted Peppa and George and had lots of little bits the right size for them.

The one in the ELC sale KrassKim is rather too pink, she is not really into pink stuff or very girly stuff.

I'd like one that we can decorate a bit ourselves as well, am probably asking too much...!

I bought my DD the Sylvanian Family Regency Hotel last year .Argos had it half price (I wouldn't have paid ?110 but ?55 was a bargain)

It's massive, lots of rooms. She enjoys playing with it.
And IIRC it has little lights in it too Smile

On the Christmas bargains thread - there is a link to a corner one that looks fab.

I have the giant one - DD plays a lot with playmobil and I think he will play with it and them and grow into barbie.

I've bought a job lot of barbies to go with it for £7 from charity shop a I don't mind that the stuff she has is too small and neither will she

Last year I bought my dd the wooden dolls house from asda. it was ?25 and she uses it for all her peppa pig (in fatc it is called the peppa pig house) plus playmobile and lego figues. Some cuddle toys and barbies visit on occasion. I bought the wooden furniture set that goes with it, but decided that was a bit boring, so we also got some stuff on ebay (she has birthday near christamas, so it was a bit of a house fest) got her peppa pig school, which now occupies attic of the house, and playground which is in the house garden. Also founf playmoble shower and loo which she loves (have a queue of 20 playmobile/peppa pig figures waiting for a shower in the mornings!)

All in all great success and not expensive, so money left over for frunishing. They have them this year for ?35. Only comment is the door drags on the carpet, so would prefer it to sit on a wooden board/laminate floor, but have never got round to it.

When I was a kid, my dad painted the inside of my dolls house to match our house, plus off cut of carpet. it was great

Thank you, I love the Asda one (and the price) but may have to get DD a giant one that she actually wants. And if she doesn't play with it I can use it as fancy shelves to store her crap toys in Grin

Thanks all Thanks

E4HD is a 20% off code that works for ELC. Brings the dolls mansion down to £64 delivered.

Is this one any good? It's half price at £50, including furniture, and you would be able to do it up yourselves.
