Hello,

yes me again, sorry.

I am hoping to 'make' christmas presents this year and am desperate to find some recipes where i can make the 'gifts' up at least 4 weeks in advance. I do not want to freeze them as they need to be sent etc. So I was hoping to do something like Boiled Sweets, Cookies, anything edible really. But they have got to last :( Oh and the only other issue is, I am a complete Novice in the kitchen.

Please help!

cookies are not going to last. Mini fruit cakes? Toffee?

Hello Trice!

Thank you for advice! It is probably obvious that I haven't a clue about all this ;o) do you have any recipes for fruit cakes or Toffee?

just had a better idea - candied peel dipped in chocolate. Easy, christmassy and keeps for ages. Looks pretty too.

Chutneys and pickles, or mincemeats. They are really easy - get a recipe - you just boil it all up together basically.

Then jar and you can put ribbons, home made tags, etc round the jars. Lovely.

They last for months - they were originally meant to be a way to preserve fruit and veg over the winter.
