My DC have about twelve small stocking gifts (well wrapped in paper and sellotape to keep them busy in the early hours).

Their presents get smaller and more expensive as they get older , so the pile gets smaller.
DS face is a picture when I buy him clothes to bulk out the present pile. Not a real pressie in his eyes. DD, loves them.

My DDs have about 5 presents under the tree from us. One big present, then four smaller presents.

From Santa, they have another 20. But this includes lots of stuff they would already be getting (socks, vests, pants...) and some seriously cheap presents (chewing gum, cereal, magazine etc)

Then there's presents from other family ...

About 3-4 each. No more than 3 this year, learning lessons from past excess. i spend quite a bit on good quality stocking stuff though.

i stil havent really decided who the gifts are from, will they all be from fc or family too? and where do we fit in?

my children usually get a gift each from 2 auties and 2 sets of grandparents

Luckily this year my dcs are all old enough to know that fc does not exist, so all the presents are from me and H, which means we can prob get away with buying less. Good job too, as the money is tight.

Before this year my numbers were similar to mowlem.

knittedbreast I tend to put DVDs and books into the stockings. Plus CD-books, disney store and claire's accessories stuff for my 6 yr old. Ds is older so I'll put some designer aftershave in his too, plus a computer game. I'll put a nice scarf in, and underwear. Then the obligatory chocolates, etc. I tend to keep it to stuff they will use and minimise the tat.

Most Santa stuff is in the stocking - its mainly stationery ( Sainsbos have 70 pc off in my store atm, Hello Kitty stuff etc ), chocolates, stickers, cards etc. I got some expensive stuff last year and it was the least popular so lesson learned there. Although I will be getting a few treat things I know they like eg Fairy Dust.

Santa leaves one big present by the tree. We give 3 or 4 much smaller presents under the tree ( eg annuals, books etc ) plus stuff from other people.
