I'm Mouse and I'm 10 whole days sober which is bloody amazing given that I would normally consume nearly 90 units per week! And that's without 'special occasions'!!

I recommend this to anyone struggling with 'addictions' and nothing more to Trin, except, are you trying to win money with the Magnums competition. I met a (very very nice) woman who told me that she was so addicted to competitions that she had taken a top job in Manchester children's social services on the basis that it meant she would be constantly out and about in her car so she could go to different supermarkets according to the competition offers that they offered. It must have been sometime ago. Anyway, as a competition veteran, she told me she was buying (but not eating) magnums, just for the competition value. She retired sometime ago, so I am not outing her. That was all for Trin, re Magnums.

Hello everyone and an extra wave for Hammy and Lastone!

Day 4 here for me and I definitely won't be drinking today - it was mentioned on the earlier thread about just not having that first glass and I'm drumming that into my head.

Funny thing is I only really like the initial sensation of the first or second glass - but can't stop at that. I get greedy and spoil it for myself so for now, not drinking is how I hope to rein myself in. I feel really tired but know it's just the 'poison' working its way out of my system.
