Thought I had better start a new thread as the old one was about to crash

Happy 30th B'Day kbaby Wish I was 30 again but then I suppose I wouldn't even be married let alone have a house to live in or my 2 precious children. Whoops-going all sentimental now, better go!

Taking DD1 to her dance class Christmas Party so got some sarnies to be getting on with.

Happy Sunday

Am a tad disappointed that Sophie didn't roll on the last thread but here's hoping she might manage it on this one

Hi Girls - sorry not been on for a while, it?s been quite a full on week (went back to work) and my brain has been a bit scrambled! HC ? thanks for new thread, Sophie?s not the only non-roller, Emma?s STILL showing no signs, though she does do quite a cute thing where she arches her back and throws herself sideways like a crab!

Happy birthday kbaby , hope the day picks up for you and you manage to get in a birthday drink somewhere along the line! You are good staying on diet coke all night.

Ceebee I have that same dream about the exams on a very regular basis ? have done for about the last 10 years if not more. Must be anxiety based, almost certainly work related ? boo! Hope work?s going okay for you, have been reading your thread but not been organised enough to post yet!

Kayzed ? Roshi is so sweet, bless her with her toast! Hope you get an answer to the tongue-tie question soon.

Welcome back bumpybel ? I don?t think we crossed over much before as I only started posting at the beginning of July but know you were there lots before by reading back a bit.

Us ? Thanks for the reassurances about the nursery, I think you are right about it being worse for the parents at this age, she seems quite happy when being dropped off or picked up.
Re being in labour at the same time, yes it would have been very comforting if we?d known. Imagine if we?d been able to chat then ? the conversation would probably have gone something like
F@F - ?ooooooowwwwwww?
Us - ?aaaaaaarrrrgghhhh?
F@F - ?bloooooddddyy helllllll ? ? internal stitches? ffs ??? ?

I?ve uploaded some pics of Emma ? will try and do the link in a min.

Weighed her on Friday, she?s 12lbs 7oz at 24 weeks, so although she has put on a bit she?s in the bottom pink percentile, whatever that number is. Still seems chirpy enough though so am trying not to worry too much about it.

Well back to work this week, I haven?t been so tired since I gave birth I don?t think and I?ve only done a day and a half Still being woken up two or three times a night which doesn?t help obviously. Very emotionally draining (and quite a shock to the system) the whole experience. At least I can go and feed her at lunchtimes at the nursery (it?s about 10 mins drive from work) which takes the pressure off the EBM a bit and means I can see her, but does make the day even busier. Bit too early to say how it will go in terms of being able to cope, but I certainly hope it gets better or I?ll be a right mess.

Weaning?s going slowly, just very watery smooth baby rice mixed with apple and pear juice at the moment, but she seems to actually be swallowing some now so it?s a start. Will try carrots again today I think.

Have good days all xx

I wonder if this will work now there's a new thread... I posted ages ago as girlinfrance, but for some reason I haven't been able to post again, maybe the thread was too big because it kept crashing on me.

Anyway... I have been following you all from a distance so I know more about you than you do about me now

Thomas isn't rolling or sitting so you're not alone HC! But he's a gorgeous bundle of giggly chubbiness.

Hoping I can stay on this one, you all seem so nice!

Hi Frenchleave - hope all's going well and welcome back .

Bumpybel - great to see you again too, doesn't time fly when you're covered in baby puke .

Well, we have moved the cot into DS's room, he is (fingers crossed) napping as we speak. Tonight is the night where we get our room back! DS has been waking up regularly when we come to bed, so am hoping that he won't now he's not in with us. THis may be clutching at straws however, we shall see .

Oh, and not a roll to be seen, but does do the back arching and head craning (wants eyes in the back of his head) so maybe at some point. Also does cute baby pressups and tries to push himself along going 'uh uh' when you put him on his tum. Really will need to get my head round this weaning thing too - would love to go the BLW route, is it really that simple Wallace? Dunno, but after what seems like months of fending off mad HVs ("well dear, you were probably weaned at six weeks" is a sample - WTF?!?!) can't believe that it's nearly time, and part of me is a bit scared would you believe?

Festive - what gorgeous photos. Emma is beautiful and what lovely eyes!!

Am not back at work yet (another 2 weeks of freedom to go) - glad your first week was ok

If it helps, JOsh did the back arching/head craning thing for a couple ofweeks and then rolled so maybe a roll is on it's way! Wish Josh could master the sitting thing - not remotely interested and just falls backwards/sideway etc. Have found that using stacking cups in front of him will make him sit up so he can knock them down but as soon as he does that, he flops again.

Just been to visit MIL - had the usual 'well, if he sleeps so much during the day, he won't sleep at night' comment and the usual 'ooh, he is obviously hungry, why don't you give him some jelly' (I mean, WTF??) comment. What fun eh??

Hi Ladies,

Sorry I havent been on for a bit. what with xmas and a bout of chicken pox I seem to be quite occupied of late.

Jazz will be 6 months on the 13th, and on the advice of my hv I have started to wean her. Going v, slowly and am sort of trying the BLW thing. She likes to feed herself, and a lot of the time will either try to hit the spoon or pinch it. So she is eating bit of bread, organic rusks, the odd bit of fruit etc.

Happy b'day kbaby. Hope you've had a good day.

It's my b'day next month and Dh is buying me a pamper day. Am gonna have the works. Full body polish, manicure, pedicure and facial. Am looking forward to it, but dont know how i'll cope leaving Jazz for the day.

I hope you all had a good xmas! Ours was good.

I hope those of you going back to work are settling back in alright.

I just brought myself a bayamo, has anyone got/had one? what do you make of them? mines not here yet.

Welcome back to those of you who have been absent.

Well, thats enough from my mammoth mouth tonite.

cheers

Pink

Gorgeous photos Festive! Hope work gets better and Emma doesn't pick up every bug that's going at nursery like my ds seems to have done He's got some awful gammy eye, cough/cold thing at the mo...

Happy B-day KBaby! I've found my thirties much better than my twenties, hope you do too.

Ryan's not rolling either (and he was six months old on Jan 5), think he's gonna skip that whole stage... he's quite good at sitting propped between cushions. Weaning's going pretty well (when he's not ill...) - he loves avocado and sweet potato!

Hope everyone has a good week.

Hugs, Impy x

Hello!

Good idea abour new thread.
He's rolled once, he keeps going nearly over and then looking at me then rolling back abd laughing at me...grrr!
He sits, sometimes eats and like to propel himself along by his feet when on his stomach but not with his hands at the same time.

Agalch - Glad you enjoyed urself. I remember going and trying wedding dresses on, it's lovely isn't it.

Kosh- Isn't Jake a cutie. Is it me or does he seem to have a twinkle of mischief in his face?

DD2 is the only one to have the pox so far and is nearly over it. But the other two could still get it yet. Jazz has excema anyway so I doubt she'll notice any difference at all.

Hi frenchleave nice to see you

Happy birthday kbaby

HC - like the name change, you thought you'd try something new, eh? Like the thread title btw.

feative - love the photos, she is dainty like my dd, and so pretty. Lovely doll's pram!

ceebee - jelly ?!?

mawest - yes babyled weaning is soo easy (but some people say it didn't work for them and their baby) Leo will hold and eat anything I give him. He bites off lumps and chews and swallows. Make for intersting nappies - combination of brocolli and reusable nappies is not a good one At first I had to hand Leo the food, but now he is getting the hang of picking it up himself. I must take a photo of him eating, he looks so intense

pink - I love the sound of your pampering day, I'm so jealous At least if the others get the pox it will be over and done with...

impy - poor ryan. My older kids go back to school tomorrow - I wonder how long it will be until we come down with something nasty...

koshka - love those bath photos

agalch - so exciting, can't wait to see pics

Don't know why my photos didn't work - they are the same ones as usual

Leo had his first supper at MIL's. She was amazed to see him eat and didn't criticise once

While we were there he added "nanananana" to his range of babbling. MIL was so chuffed (we call her "Nanny"), but I'm a little bit

Ceebee74- Don?t worry about Josh sleeping on his front if hes doing it himself. DD slept like that from 14 weeks old. Weve also started putting DS on his side to sleep as he seems to settle a tiny bit better.

Festive- Lovely pics, she has lovely big eyes.
Ds has taken to crying every time I get the camera out. Hes looks all lovely smiling etc and then once I think ? ohh thatll make a nice picture? off he starts bawling again.
Ds isn?t sitting yet and I think hes 23 weeks old, as soon as you let go of him he falls over.

love the thread title hc.

Kbaby - thanks for the reassurance - I know I am being a paranoid 1st time mum!

Wallace - exactly my thoughts on the jelly (but bear in mind this is someone who gave DH unpasturised cows milk - they lived on a farm - when he was a few weeks old). Imagine the fun you would have with BLW and jelly

Report
Wallace · 07/01/2007 21:44

PMSL at the idea of BLW and Jelly - can't wait to try that one

Also meant to say not to worry about sleeping on his front. I think they say it is okay once they are rolling themselves over.
