What pointless one woman/man boycott are you staging?

Here's my one woman boycotts.

I have boycotted Wadebridge because they elected a total wanker to the town council who said that disabled children should be culled to save money. I rarely visit Wadebridge anyway.

I have also boycotted Dartington Hall Estate for unreasonable parking fines. I park outside the grounds. Nobody cares.

And lego minifigures as DS2 always ends up with a frigging princess or mermaid or something and we have to deal with the tears. I'm sure their sales figures are unaffected.

None of my boycotts will make any difference whatsoever. I realise this.

So what are your pointless boycotts?

I am boycotting the costa which is in my village

I don't think it belongs there and there is a danger that the independent shops and cafés will shut and we will have a shitty village centre

It's pointless because I actually visit costa in other towns and my friends keep saying "shall we meet at costa?" when they know I can't !!!!!!!!!!!

My brother was for a long time married to a Spanish woman who made him very unhappy indeed. My other brother and I decided to boycott everything Spanish. It was rather fun and relieved our feelings. When he finally left her, however, it was a great relief to drink Cava again.

Clarks. Had v bad customer service online and vowed never to darken their doors again. They don't care and getting shoes for DS elsewhere is inconvenient, but I refuse to back down

Brilliant spanish boycott!

Oh yes, I was going to boycott the costa in our town for the same reasons but the whole town campaigned so they didn't open one in the end! I don't even drink coffee.

I was boycotting the daily mail but have succumbed to their sidebar of shame again Blush. Come to think of it, I used to have dozens of local shops/ restaurants that I would boycott (I have a one strike policy on businesses offending me!) but can't think of any now... either my boycotts were so effective that they have all closed down, or I've chilled out a bit in my old age.

Starbucks for not paying enough tax (but I still, hypocritically, use Amazon).

The Times for phone hacking, even though everyone seemed to be at it.

Marks and Spencer - almost - because their fashion is now shit - but I do like their shoes which fit my short, fat feet.

I've been boycotting The Sun since the early 80s, when they had a front page pic of a man who roasted his puppy to death posing by the oven in which he did it. I'm also boycotting my local Tesco (at home in Ireland, not n the UK) because they employed a total cow/ex-friend I fell out with :) I've been boycotting a local pub for 10 years now since they unfairly sacked a friend of mine, and another one because they painted the inside the wrong colour. I am a perfectly rational, reasonable person most of the time!

I boycott the local independent convenience store because the man who owns it is a complete knob.

I'm sure I'll have lots more that I'll remember in due course because I love a good one-sided feud

DH and I boycott john Lewis due to really shitty customer service, unless of course we need to buy something we can't get elsewhere. Then DH just grumbles. It's the world's most ineffective boycott.

I boycott comedians mainly. Namely Billy Connolly for the Kenneth Bigley jokes, and for refusing to make any apology to the poor man's family for the hurt he caused. Also Franky Boyle for the remarks about Jordan's disabled son.
I also boycott Domino's because of their support and funding of rather extreme prolife groups.

Several high st shops at our local shopping centre because of them cutting up/destroying stock and throwing it out when they could do something else with it such as give it to charity.

I have boycotted listening to radio 1 since Chris Moyles was sacked left. I know he's a bit of a prick but I thought his breakfast show was hilarious and the new bloke really gets my goat.

Or maybe I've just got too old for radio 1? I listen to radio 2 now Blush

When I'm in Dorset I boycott paying for parking at two famous tourist spots because no one ever checks because I don't want to line the pockets of the local landowners - particularly as I've heard some dreadful stories of how they treat their tenants/workers/holiday home owners. Won't pay to go to a certain music festival there either.

Tesco, because I saw one of their senior people speak and I didn't like him (he seemed incredibly arrogant). Not that I shopped in Tesco anyway. It was still some pleasure to see their drop in sales.

I have been boycotting UK Thomas Cook stores after they closed the Dublin shops and dfriend was made redundant.

I took it one step further for a while and used to go in and spend ages "booking" a holiday only to get upset at some slight on their part and leave again.
I convinced myself this was worse for them than just not going in there.
I also sometimes filled in little customer cards telling them what a shit company they were for closing the Dublin stores.

I am sure no-one at Thomas Cook gives one bit of a shit Grin

My local Dominos; they buzzed our doorbell repeatedly once (like rapid, machine gun fire style pressing) and woke up ds2. Pizza Hut is a bit poo here & I miss dominos but they're bastards and I hate them now!

Anything owned by Rupert Murdoch. I loathe the man and everything he stands for and refuse to let him have any of my money. I realise this does not affect him at all.

I've only flown with them once but won't ever again.

Also Metallica. I was never a fan but did like a couple of songs. Then I discovered they were dicks, so now if I wish to listen to those songs I listen to copies I downloaded from a dodgy website. Ha, take that Hetfield, I bet you're missing the approximately £1.99 you didn't get from me.

I boycott Norwich Union (now Aviva I think) as they were horrid to Jayne Torvill when she used to work there in 1979!

I wonder if we could team up. I'm more than happy to add Metallica, Emirates, Thomas Cook, The Sun and any coffee shop chains to my list as I have never been a customer or likely to be either. Will you all avoid Wadebridge? (honestly, it's in cornwall, you'll probably not notice).

I draw the line at John Lewis though. Sorry.

Ryannair because I don't want to fly with an airline that gives the impression it cuts corners. Not that Ryannair flys anywhere that I want to travel from or to anyway so it is irrelevant.

Amazon because they are squeezing the publishers to sell to them at prices that would force the publishers out of business in order to pay for the expansion of Amazon. And they treat their staff like shit.
