Hi everyone. Sorry to hear about all the injuries, emummy, phlebas, lastqueen and holmes. I hope you all recover quickly.
Welcome Frank. It will start getting easier for you, just don't do too much too soon. Hopefully you will soon start enjoying it.
I went out last night after having the weekend off running. Did some cycling and a HIIT instead. Even in my old shoes I'm getting various pains in my shins and ankles. DH thinks it's just general old lady aches and pains (he gets lots of old man pains from karate) but I'm still anxious about another injury putting me out of action so want to catch anything early.
Incidentally, I got a reply from Up & Running. They said to go back to the shop and work with the staff to find the right shoes. If the ones I bought are in a saleable condition they will take them back. Not sure they would be saleable after four miles but I understand the shop's position. I want a pain free run in my old shoes before I try my new shoes again which may be a while.
Wishing everyone injury-free (and wasp sting free - ouch! Agressive
) running.
