Hi all!
Me and hubby are 23, I've been off the pill since we've been married so coming up 2 years and we've been TTC for a little less than a year. I tend to go by my cm for ovulation as I have a 33day cycle, we do have regular sex through the out month too. I'm also taking folic acid. It's really starting to get to me that it's taking so long, everyone my age seems to have first time luck or getting pregnant unplanned.
Anyone have and advice or stories? I'd love to hear!!

Hi Rosey - I know how you feel, it's really tough when everyone around you seems to fall of just thinking about sex.

Have you had any tests or anything yet?

I'm part of a thread called bumsnet which is very supportive, and between us the ladies there have been through pretty much every ttc scenario, please join us if you like? Xx

Hi Sammy!
I went to the gyno just before I got married and had scans, check ups and tests because I was having painful periods but all was fine. I've briefly spoke to the doctor about it and she just said I'm 'very' young and to wait it out abit longer!
Oh brill! Thanks I'll have a look

Well that's a good start, but very annoying to be told 'it's ok, you're young' - doesn't make you feel any better does it?
Fab, see you on bumsnet :). Xx

Hi blooming! I'm 23 too! I haven't been trying as long as you (came off the pill at the start of the year and periods returned to normal in Aug/sept time) so I have no advice I'm afraid. But I feel your pain, in October I was bawling my eyes out when AF came because I'm desperate for a BFP! DH thought something was seriously wrong when he came in from walking the dog and I was sobbing at the top of the stairs!!
Good luck though! I hope it happens for you soon Smile and if not, get a nicer doctor that will help rather than just fob you off!

Sammy, no it doesn't make me feel better ha!

Hi Bailey!
Awh bless you! Its so tough, but think positively you haven't been trying for very long so once you've got the hang of your cycle and know your body it might not take that long!! I'd love for you to keep me in the loop!
I genuinely thought this month might be our month but my boobs have just started hurting so AF is just round the corner :( after Christmas I'm going to go to my gyno doctor I did before and hopefully go from there

Hi blooming, thanks for the reply! I definitely just need to be patient (that really isn't something I'm very good at though!). I never seem to get the same AF symptoms month to month so I'm constantly googling to see what each thing might mean!
I haven't even told my doc I'm trying (it takes a month to get a routine appt), what do they do if you do tell them? Is it with me mentioning it if I'm there anytime soon? (Sorry for the dumb questions!)

I think this gynae failed you. Her job is to determine why you having painful periods, not make judgement calls on your TTC/age. I would go back and ask for another referral.

Expat,
it was a Dr that said about the age thing, when I went to the gyno there was nothing that came up as to why I have painful periods, all tests and scans were clear. I'm deffo going back to my gyno after new year though just for a check up!

Bailey,
I found I was like you at the beginning, so obsessed with everything and every twinge ha!! One good thing I've learnt from it is that you learn a lot about yourself and your cycle but I guess it'll be abit hard if your pms symptoms are different each time! I find it great noting everything down so I can look back and put my mind at rest instead of obsessing! My pms signs are just heavy boobs for a week before and go the day of my AF. And regarding the doctor they will hopefully refer you to a gynaecologist if you just say you're having concerns(remember you don't have to get into things you don't want to!). If you can, maybe call up your gp and see if you can get a referral to your local gyno without going in? Your go might be helpful! Mine tend to take a couple of nudges before they do anything!

Well I called the docs yesterday, was told it was 4.5 weeks before there were any routine appts and I'm not allowed to speak to the doctor on the phone unless it's an emergency! So I think I'll leave it another couple of months and then make an appt to go in and se them.
This might be TMI but do you ever get ov spotting? DH and I DTD last night and I seem to have a bit of brownish discharge - hoping it's a good sign as I've never had this before! Google throws up lots of different answers which really doesn't help
How's everything going in camp blooming?

Oh my days! That's a long wait! I think it's a good idea to leave it a little longer as you've quite recently been off the pill! I've never had spotting anytime during my cycle, I get achy legs and ewcm when ovulating. Make sure you keep doing the deed, especially if that was a sign of ovulating!! Good luck! Got AF today so I'm excited to just start again soon! I used to get so upset but now I just see it as an opportunity to try again, I've had a switch in my brain that says 'stop obsessing' so I'm TRYING to stay positive. Hoping for a Christmas miracle! Obsessing isn't a strong enough word for me! I'm googling everything and symptom spotting like crazy even though I know it's too early. If anybody looked at my google search results they'd be shocked!
Luckily I'm now able to tell DH about everything a bit more, he doesn't get creeped out or anything but he tells me to google it (or he googles it himself!) so it's not always a help
Good luck for this month, let me know how you get on and if you try any obscure things

I used to be exactly the same honestly! My hubby was so good and wouldn't let me google! Actually helped abit hahaha!
I've actually been going abit of reading last night and saw about 'pre seed' have you heard about it at all? I'm considering trying it but am a bit unsure!

I've heard about that, but I'm a bit wary for two reasons
1 - DH and I don't use lubricants and I have a feeling he'd think I was 'going too far' if I told him we needed to use it to help our chances (and I'd struggle to do it beforehand when we try to be spontaneous and DTD without a 5 minute warning!)
2 - it looks a bit too odd for me with the applicator and I think it would take the fun out of it
Don't get me wrong, I'd probably reconsider in a few months if we still haven't conceived, but right now it just looks a bit freaky! There's a good few success stories though. Are you considering it?

I completely agree with those points actually! Understandable!
My hubby asked if there was anything we could do to help us out abit and I happen to find it, we're coming up to a year trying now so we're getting abit inpatient ha! Another thing is that ALL our family keep saying they expected us to be pregnant by now (they don't even know we've been trying for so long) so it bothers my husband more!
I just really don't know whether to try it or not!

Nobody knows we're trying either, there's enough pressure already (especially from his mother) that we don't need any more! I'm a pretty rubbish liar so I think we've done well to keep quiet!
If we'd been trying for a year, I'd probably go for it. It's not going to do any harm but you might just waste a few quid. And having your DH on board too is an added bonus, and it might help him feel like he's doing something to help the process (apart from donating his swimmers) if you know what I mean?

So we went for it and have ordered some :D weve decided to start using it after Christmas, but I'm sure we will become impatient and start right away! It is so hard when people make comments not to just snap and be like ummmm we are trying!!

Hi queenoftheworld!
Keep us update! So nice to see how it all goes! Just wondering, what made you start using it soon after start trying?

Yeah you know you'll be lucky to make it to the 1st of Dec before you use it! You'll have to let me know what it's like and how you get on!
Well I'm absolutely bushed this weekend, I can't stop crying (I cried at last nights X factor when Louisa said she wasn't feeling well Confused), I'm peeing every two mins, I'm knackered and I feel like utter shit ... But still hoping these things are all a good sign!

We started straight away with OPKs, pre-seed and temping because we only have a few months to try... Getting married at the end of 2016 so if i don't get pregnant by the new year, we're going to postpone ttc until after the wedding. Have to admit I was hoping to conceive immediately with us being young and healthy and using all these 'extras' but am at end of tww for cycle 2 and can tell AF is on her way. Only one cycle left :(

Preseed is great! Try not to be intimidated by the applicators though, they're not as bad as they look.
